This short history was written originally for Christian friends who knew nothing of the Israeli-Arab Conflict but what they heard on the BBC or read in the left-wing press. Since much of this “news” is Palestinian propaganda (at one time the BBC’s reporter in Gaza was a member of Hamas!), and since my wide reading and my contacts in Israel have given me a different perspective, I decided it was necessary to write a more objective history.
I am neither an academic nor a Middle-East expert – simply an ordinary Christian with a love for Israel and a passion for the truth. I am not the author of anything that is said here, merely the compiler of other people’s research, the sources of which I gratefully acknowledge at the end.
I hope what you read will lead you to question your assumptions and, in future, to discover both sides of the story for yourselves.
